Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement in Elections (SCENE)
FABIO and the Uganda National NGO Forum launched Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement in Elections (SCENE) to spark voter participation and hold leaders accountable in Iganga, Jinja, and Kamuli. Through dialogues, barazas, district meetings, and radio shows, the program reached nearly 10 million people, delivering voter education, empowering communities to summon local officials, and prompting concrete actions—road repairs, fund recoveries, new hospital beds, and improved waste collection.
Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement and Public Accountability (SCEPA)
FABIO, the Uganda National NGO Forum, and the Royal Danish Embassy launched Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement and Public Accountability (SCEPA) to revive active citizenship in Iganga District. By training leaders of ten community groups (people with disabilities, women entrepreneurs, youth, farmers, savings‑credit clubs, etc.) across eight villages, the project held 30 grassroots meetings, followed by validation sessions in Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, and a regional Busoga gathering. These dialogues produced a Busoga sub‑region Citizens’ Charter and spurred concrete improvements—road repairs, stricter school inspections, and enhanced public‑accounts oversight.
